As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have a job! A real-life, adult, need-a-degree-for job as an admissions counselor here in Houston. I originally planned to move to Houston to attend law school so I had no connections to actual people here who had jobs. So here is the tale of how I actually got my real life job. Getting a job at a university is a very long process. I had originally applied for this job in September a few weeks after Harvey and then promptly forgot about it. Until I got a call at the end of Read More
LEAVING SCOUT WHEN WE TRAVEL
We’ve been on two trips since we adopted Scout. To Colorado and to Los Angeles for Christmas. Both times we’ve left Scout with two different sitters we found on Rover. I was so nervous at first (and still am), but I’ve found a little routine to help us when we travel. First, I realized that it’s a fun vacation for Scout too! She gets to meet new people and sometimes even other dogs. It’s a nice little break for her. Second, I do everything I can to prepare her for leaving. 2018: SIMPLIFY
Hello! Happy New Year! Happy January! Guess what? I have a new job. You are now reading a blog written by an admissions counselor at a University. The last couple weeks have been so nice because I have a routine, a schedule; I Read More

It feels just like yesterday we were driving across the state line and then moving into our Airbnb for an unknown period of time while we apartment searched. Then we moved into our pretty little apartment. I love how homey and comforting it feels in here. And we got Scout, who I can’t imagine life without. I’m pretty confident that a job is on the horizon for me, but I’ll be sad when I can’t spend all day Read More

The story of Mike Ross and practicing law/ helping others without the need of a very expensive law degree. I’m still binge watching it 2-3 shows each night. ALSO the guy who plays Harvey’s brother is also playing Jason on General Hospital, which is now also a new obsession on tv. Actually, it’s an old obsession from high school that I recently started watching again. I love the craziness on GH. Now the guy who used to play Jason just showed up and Read More
